These worm composting bin specifications
have been developed by City Farmer after more than 10 years of providing
bins and workshops for the City of Vancouver residents.

- 14.4 US gallon capacity (approx 13” x
13 “ 17” = 35 cm x 35 cm x 45 cm)
- 12 vents around top of bin
- 4 drain holes at bottom of bin
- 4 plastic feet under bin
- Comes with lid and leachate tray

Vermicomposting Kit comes with the bin plus the following supplies:
- 1/2 lb of RedWiggler worms (Eisena
fetida)
- Bedding - blend of chopped straw
and shredded newspaper
- Fork for incorporating organic waste
- Book: Worms Eat My Garbage by Mary

A complete vermicompost kit (including
worms) costs 79.95 Can$ plus GST.
Worm bins, worms and
supplies are also available separately. Worms only
cost 25 Can$ including GST.
The kits are available for pick-up
or shipping on Wednesday mornings at 5050, Gladwin Road,
in Abbotsford, BC. Please give us at least one day's notice so
that we can harvest the worms in time.
Delivery by Purolator will arrive at most locations in
the Lower Mainland, BC, the following day (i.e. Thursday) and costs
20 Can$ plus GST (Lower Mainland, BC) - for one kit or one batch
of worms.
On a few Saturday mornings during the year, CityFarmer
organizes vermicompost seminars. Residents of Vancouver
are entitled to participate at a very favorable rate that includes the
kit, but above all, it is an excellent opportunity
to learn more about vermicomposting. Please contact cityfarmer.org
for more information.
On workshop days, we also deliver free of charge extra worm bins to the
CityFarmer location. Please reserve your bin at least a day before.
Unfortunately, we cannot process credit
cards.

that Red Wiggler worms can also be purchased at compostworms.ca.
