Pulp sludge being composted without bulking agent or fertilizer in our small-scale in-vessel system. The cost is comparable to windrow composting.

Some of the questions that we can answer include:

• Will this waste compost?
• How long will the composting process take?
• What kind of end product will I get?
• What kind of aeration is required?
• Can I eliminate odor?
• What do I need to add to optimize the process and obtain the highest quality end product?

We have worked with the National Research Council, the University of Guelph, and Kwantlen College on some of our projects.

Examples of our research projects include:

 

• Development of Rotary Drum Composting Technology

• Composting pulp sludge to product a peat moss replacement

• Measurement of greenhouse gas emissions during composting.
